If you are also among those secretly inspired by the looks of Alice in Wonderland for some of your sunny-day outfits — we are talking fit and flare dress, light stockings, headband — you can come out of the closet, now. V&A Museum of Childhood, in London, is going to open its doors to one of the most fablelike exhibitions.
Entitled The Alice Look, this exhibit will show how the children’s book inspired fashion as well as culture. Videos of runway shows, sketches and photos will be shown to the audience, together with a rendering of the official and legendary Alice outfit, blue dress included. The project is meant to honor the 150th birthday of the fable.
The Alice in Wonderland museum exhibit will be held from May 2 to November 1. In the meantime, let’s have a look at how the world of fashion has been inspired through the years by the magical world of Alice.
