If you thought street style photography was born together with fashion blogging, think again. These shots from the early 20th century show London’s best dressed walking around in Kensington, sporting big hats and long gowns in Edwardian fashion.
The expressions and mindless poses of the fashion ladies easily reminds the viewer of nowadays’ street style photography. They didn’t have blogs to share their outfits on though. The photographer, Edward Linley Sambourne, was a cartoonist and illustrator for Punch magazine and had a passion for the camera, which unleashed on the streets of London where he could capture his favorite subjects to be used as reference models for his work.
We always enjoy a bit of extra vintage fashion. Do you?
