In December, New York hosted the latest Sala Bianca 945, the white collection by Valentino which celebrates the ever-famous 1968 white collection, a legendary line chosen, among others, by Jackie Kennedy for her wedding with Aristotle Onassis.
Faithful to its name (“sala bianca” means “white hall” in Italian), the Valentino collection features high couture white pieces, whose color is interpreted and transported by a range of materials from lace to muslin. Different are also the shades: models dressed in chantilly, ivory, champagne walked down the catwalk sporting 60s-inspired booties, rigorously white with hints of gold.
Blouses, mantels, capes, lace dresses and plain vests followed one another in a celebration of the past, and, surely enough, the white, white winter of New York city.
