‘Post-apocalyptic’ is the right adjective to describe this real example of futuristic as well as dramatic approach to fashion. During the latest edition of Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week, designer¬†QIAODAN Yin Peng presented his new sportswear collection, where all outfits featured smog masks.¬†

Ironical or provocative, the presence of such an odd accessory reflects a more than worrisome reality. Air pollution in China has become widespread enough to make smog masks a daily truth for the population. QIAODAN Yin Peng’s items might simply be something that the fashion-interested in China would use on a daily basis.

Colorful, creative and matching with the collection’s outfits, these smog masks could be the latest or future trend of a country facing a difficult environmental situation.
