Here in our office we have a very multicultural environment. So many nationalities are sitting at the same table, and we happily take advantage of this fact learning as much as we can about each other’s cultures. This is why we are obsessed with languages as well.
This week’s find on the matter is some very cute graphics concerning idioms, a very fascinating part of every culture. Their main function is to embellish conversation and make a point clearer, and each language has their very own. What’s most charming about idioms is that each one of them gives a deep, untranslatable insight into the language they are used in. For instance: when an Italian wishes you to be “in the mouth of the wolf”, don’t be afraid; it actually means good luck.
Hotel Club put some of the strangest ones pictures, and we find them lovely.
