If you are a fan of pretty dresses, great news! Peter Copping was just announced as the new creative directer for Oscar de la Renta. As you remember, John Galliano held the position for three weeks last year and was mostly responsible for the label’s Fall ’13 collection, which produced garments with clashing aesthetics that could not really pull together to create one cohesive look. Definitely not the best fit for either of them… but this partnership looks a bit more encouraging.
Copping left his position at Nina Ricci for the job and with his history of beautiful, romantic, feminine dresses we can see him fitting in well with the brand. He’ll work alongside the designer to debut his first collection this February at New york Fashion Week. We will have our eyes out for that one!
