For these windy days Autumn that seem to give nothing but a promise of a cold Winter we rather take the chance to enjoy these sprinkles of sun interrupted by drops of rain. We try our best to hug them before we find ourselves in the Cold Gray that is Winter! Therefore we’ll give you some ideas you can do during your weekend or free-days in the middle of the week.
1. SHOOTING SESSION
Even if it’s just with your smartphone, get your camera out and start flashing around! Release your inner artist and make a collection of pictures of whatever makes you smile… your breakfast in the morning? That tree next to a window you pass by everyday? Those old LPs you’ve kept for years in the attic? Or is it your children wearing costumes? You can also gather some friends with hats and hit your favourite secret spot in the city, a guaranteed blast. Don’t forget to use the amazing Autumn light happening during the afternoon. You can print the pictures afterwards and make your own life inspirational board.
2. DRAW A FAKE TATTOO
Love tattoos but not so keen in having one for the rest of your life?? Always dreamt of having one but too scared of needles? Well you can pimp yourself for just some couple of hours, no harm and no regrets on that.. YOLO! We already posted something about tattoos here and you can check your spot here. It’s cool indeed to spruce a bit your body… like make up but taking it a bit further. You can grab some water-colour pencils and let your hand do its job, when you get tired of your fake tattoo you can get rid of it within one minute. Here are some ideas for your body ephemeral decoration.
3. DO A FLOWER ARRANGEMENT
Flowers and trees are now more orange and yellow until they fall to be part of the ground. But in this time of the year they have amazing tonalities and we should use it! Go for a walk in the nature and pick your own flowers or if you’re too lazy, buy some in a flower shop. You can also use feathers and other elements to make it look more exotic. So, get your scissors and jars ready for amazement!
5. START A MEMORIES JOURNAL
“Your memory is a monster; you forget—it doesn’t. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you—and summons them to your recall with will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!” John Irving
Remember that morning coffee you had with your bestfriend in Paris and that amazing talk you had? Maybe if you still have the sugar packet, you would love to write the date and a note so you could go back to that precious moment. Well it’s gone but you can start now. Collect your most precious memories and put them together in your precious memories journal.
6. GO FOR A WALK, A SERIOUS WALK
Going for a walk is nothing new, but what about considering walking for 3 or 4 hours? This is what we call a “serious” walk! The health benefits of walking are well known and every year a study comes out showing how people who walk habitually have bigger brains, better memories and improved mental ability. Beyond exercising your body, walking can also be seen as a way of meditation and reflection thus highly stimulating for the brain. Our plan would be: put on the most comfortable shoes you have, get a nice backpack with some viands (a lot of water!) and a raincoat, get a train to get closer to nature and hit the road Jack!
“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.”
