Today we’d love to show this beautiful peace designed by Tania da Cruz, a portuguese designer born in Lisbon who grew up in Brussels; WIG.
WIG is a white or black ceramic vase for flowers. Its androgynous shape resembles a casque of a medieval armour but its nothing to make war with! Or even an old shop mannequin – you can exploit it in a different way and use it to place your hat! This peace really looks funny and ironic for the result completely exceeds the expectations. It must be SO MUCH FUN doing an arrangement on it! You can have completely different results depending on the flowers you place on it. We can’t wait to get one WIG to make our own variations: punk, old lady with hair curlers, afro style, jagged cut, “i just came out of the shower”, bad hair day and so on.. and the best part is that you don’t need to take it to the hairdresser or what so ever; it likes a natural and bio hair treatment for it only takes water. How ecological and environmental friendly. We love it.
With WIG we “think flowers” – they come out of its head and we feel them in a different way. We enjoy them in a different way, they look crazy and reinterpreted. We all agree that design is a bit like air these days. Everything has to be designed, right? As in, everything needs to have an extra touch otherwise is not existing for its own sake. And the fact is design pushed further, can make of room a place you want to stay. And home accessories with a contemporary approach are a must. We would like to bring these peace up as an example of this statement. This vase, being exactly this, just a vase, can have and give life in such different and amazing ways. I’m afraid we now sound a bit like a cheesy commercial from the 90s… “call 445 445 in the next 5 minutes and you’ll get two vases for the price of one..” Hahaha. Maybe the fact is we indeed think this in an amazing peace.
