This story of the NY Fashion Week has really inspired us. It’s about a 13 year old girl- clothing designer Isabella Rose Taylor from Austin, Texas. As the youngest designer for Nordstrom on this NY Fashion Week, she showed her Spring 2015 collection! Just a year ago, her 2014 Fall collection has achieved major success and now is available in 10 Nordstrom shops as well as online.
Her first steps in creative fields started as a 8 years old – with a finger painting. Soon she took a sewing camp, and instantly fell in love with the dynamics behind clothing construction. She started doing clothes for friends and family, but soon, with her great parents support, it evolved into a full business.
“From a young age, my parents always encouraged me to follow my dreams. They told me I didn’t have to wait until I was older to be my own boss and do what I love.”
She mixes grungy street style with hippie elements and quirky details, including oversized tees, and an array of babydoll dresses. Perfect for young adults like her.
And she seems to be handling it pretty well in the adult world, and that she isn’t your average Teen is pretty obvious. Being a Mensa member, college sophomore and to have already created a collection, puts her way ahead of her peers, even though she thinks otherwise:
“I think everyone these days that’s my age is just super insanely busy. I’m not the only one.”
