Have you noticed that from time to time a new fashion brand emerges as a great market discovery? Suddenly some brands arise as darlings of the internet, which happened with Isabel Marant, COS, and Maje. They were there for years, but overnight they became the next greatest brands in the World.

Now it’s the time of Sacai, a Japanese fashion brand founded and designed by Chitose Abe in 1999. Before Sacai, Chitose Abe worked for the famous Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe. However, in her own brand, she worked very quitely, far from any fashion spotlight, and just when she made her international runway debut in 2010 in Paris, a global fan base swelled around Sacai.

What is typical in Sacai clothes is the inventive one-thing-in-front, another-thing-in-back construction of the pieces, it’s an irresistible new swagger to these clothes. Big and establish designers are looking at the way she combines different textile and styles, we can easily say that Chitose Abe is a super influential designer.

Have a look at how gorgeous these Sacai looks are for Autumn/Winter 2014…and help me answer what Sacai means!
