Who isn’t a sneaker fan yet? PUMA in Berlin told us: Go become one!

Last weekend we were invited to the PUMA x Sneaker Freaker Running Book Event in Berlin. What we excpected was a smooth press event in a neat place. What we got you ask? Oh, what we got was indeed fantastic!

It was a streetstyle party situated at the Spree waterside in FluxBau. We found no personal fashion blogs, but cool online magazines, shops and sneaker freaks from all over Europe. In fact the super cool sneaker freaks didn’t have much love for the fancy fashion blogs, which they consider superficial… but anyways the crowd had a blast! The evening was free of any boring press speeches, which was appreciated very much. You didn’t need to know anything – one thing led to the other and made a really good party out of that spring evening.

There indeed was much to see that evening. You had the choice of going to different bars, see a DJ or stroll to a mini museum. Yeah, there was a room where you could see old original PUMAs and the pendants of the new collection.

That’s when we bumped into some german celebs, such as the Atzen and Daliah & Kira from the vienniese INDIE Magazine. The hosts Simon “Woody” Wood (Sneaker Freaker-Gründer) und Mister Puma Helmut Fischer wandered around, happy to talk to the big sneaker family.

After a nice DJ Set of Mantu we had the great pleasure of enjoying a fresh live act from this young guy with 90’s hip hop rap vibes – not wearing any PUMAs he just made the event feeling so honest and easygoing.

So believe us when we say: this was one delightful event! Everything just fit – the Hotel Berlin, Berlin was supermega hip, the organisation had been firstclass as well as the music and arrangements in FluxBau. But what if we had to answer „What was the coolest thing?“ – well we would have to choose: the hip street-crowd audience! And if we came to choose the best thing of the evening, we would say: the new set up of Marketing PUMA. In our opinion this brand exactly goes where it belongs – on the top! No classic, boring, everyday advertising no, they make events just like last weekend in FluxBau and grab the audience’s hearts – we love PUMA for that fresh and inspiring thinking!

But not only PUMAs future is a bright star on the horizon, even their past is really big. We got to know some impressing stuff when we read the „Running Book“ the 200 guests got as an exclusive present…

Usain Bolt made the Thesus Pro Sprint Spike the fastest shoe – ever since this shoe is dubbed the PUMA YAAM, after Bolt’s favorite food.

PUMA has been a big sports brand since the most of us can think clearly. An impressive fact (concerning the ones of us who love numbers) is, that in 1985 the company sold over 150,000 tennis raquets after the 17 year old Boris Becker won Wimbledon.

For we live in the present, we look forward to the second half of the year where the new and trendy coloured XT1 PLUS will be launched. This shoe was originally created in the golden year of 1990. In the old days the cushioning of these very shoes were state of the art – we think: it will work as well for the trendhunters of 2013!
