The Austrian fashion designer Helmut Lang retired from the catwalks in 2004 at the peak of his career. Since then the brand that carries his name belongs to Prada. 2012, 8 years later, Helmut Lang resurges as a visual artist with an exhibition in New York.
The New York Times wrote a great article about Helmut Lang’s recent trajectory, and his humbleness to start a new career at 56 years old.
It’s worth reading the NYT and if you’re in New York, it’s worth seeing the exhibition.
