#NOTORIOUS FASHION MINDS – AUSTRIAN FASHION BLOGS – BIKINIS&PASSPORTS

Vicky Heiler writes Bikinis&Passports, a personal blog with elegant photos and an unpretentious point of view. And that relaxed style (she used to live in California) is very appealing. If you see all her looks, you’ll see that she has a good eye for necklaces !

Vicky was very kind to us, answering questions about her life as a blogger , but you also can learn more about her, here in this video of District 1 Project.

1- How long have you been a blogger? Describe your blog in a few words.

I have been blogging for over 2 years now (the baby was born Feb. 17th 2010) and have loved every single day of it!! The blog is mostly about me, myself & I and all the things I do. Outfits, Shopping, Food & Travels <3

2- Everybody in the blogosphere business knows how hard it is to break even. How did you manage this?

There are to many thousands of blogs out there and its hard to be different from everyone else. But I think the most important thing is to stay true to yourself. Don’t try to copy other people and don’t lie about things. The readers appreciate an honest opinion and will love anything that is authentic.

3- How does your cooperation with brands (advertising) work?

The cooperation with brands is something that comes with time and traffic. Mainly I am under contract with an agency in Germany. They do all the banner adverts and advertorials for my blog. But of course I also have giveaway cooperations or on some occasions brands send me free clothes to wear in my outfit-postings.

4- Do you also have offline activity to support your blog?

There are multiple offline projects that take place. For example events or dinners with brands. Right now I am part of an amazing project with District 1 of Steffl, along with 3 other bloggers.

5- What is your favorite fashion blog / tumblr?

I read so many blogs that I have a hard time to pick a favorite. But I definitely love Aimee of “Song of Style“. Angelica Blick from Sweden is also a favorite of mine.

6- How would you describe the Austrian fashion-blogosphere?

The Austrian Blogosphere is not well-known yet but shouldn’t be underestimated. I think there are definitely a few gems to be discovered.

7- What is your opinion of Vienna’s position in the Fashion World? Which is the most important fashion event in Austria?

Vienna isn’t too present in the fashion-world. I think it definitely misses some unique shops and special boutiques to find unknown labels. Zara and H&M is a little too present. The biggest fashion event is probably the fashion-week in September. But it just hasn’t made a name for itself yet and isn’t known very far beyond the austrian border. Hopefully that’ll change in the next few years.

8- What is your biggest hope regarding your blog and your achievements as a blogger?

The biggest hope for my blog is that I will enjoy blogging as much as I do now for a long time!! I never had any expectations when I first started the blog, so everything that I have achieved so far has already exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with how things have turned out :-)
